THE SMALL PRINT

I don’t live in the UK. Can I still order a portrait from you?
Of course – this is the digital age! Email Ruth your details and we’ll take it from there.

What if I don’t like the end result?
Ruth’s work is produced to a consistent, high standard and you will have plenty of opportunity to see other examples of her style before you commission your painting.

If you genuinely feel that the finished painting is of lesser quality than the example images you’ve been shown, then Ruth will take reasonable steps to alter the work to meet her high standards. However, if you still feel the work is not to your liking – then the painting will be disposed of and the deposit will be retained.

Who owns the copyright in the work?
Like all artists, Ruth owns copyright in the works she produces. That means that you won’t be able to reproduce the work or make prints for sale without her permission. You will, however, own the artwork itself outright – and you’re free to sell it on if you wish. And you can, of course, take photos of the work to show your friends. Ruth may put a reproduction of the work in her portfolio but she promises not to exhibit it or sell prints.
