How much do you charge?
Ruth has a basic set of prices in mind when she sets her fees. However, every work is individually crafted – with some requiring more hours and effort to complete than others. As a guide, have a look at the Prices section.

Don’t most portrait services ask for a deposit?
Many commercial services ask for a non-refundable deposit of 50%. Ruth asks for a 30% deposit. If you decide to cancel the commission once it has started, Ruth will use the deposit to cover her costs.

When should I pay the balance?
When the painting is finished, Ruth will take photographs, upload them to her web site and post you a private link. At that point you can “sign off” on the work and pay the remainder of her fee.

How do I pay?
The easiest way to pay is by PayPal using a credit or debit card. Ruth will send you an invoice by email with a PayPal link included. If you wish to pay another way, talk to Ruth when you commission the work.

What happens if I can’t pay?
Ruth will keep the painting in storage for a reasonable time until you’re able to pay the balance.
