How to Commission a Portrait
When you commission a painting from Ruth Ellen you’re undertaking to buy an authenticated, original artwork made specially for you. The process is considered and thoughtful – not rushed. And to start the ball rolling – all you have to do is contact Ruth by email at ruth@paintportraits.co.uk or use the contact form. Here’s what to expect when you get in touch:
* You’ll be asked to pick out some favourite photographs. Ruth will help you choose the best image to make into a painted portrait and get your agreement before going ahead.
* You’ll choose a medium you’d like Ruth to work in. There are examples in the services section of the site.
* You’ll decide what size of painting you would like. Ruth will be happy to chat with you about what’s best for the space you have.
* You’ll agree on a price and commission the work it. Ruth will give you a “Letter of Agreement”. This will outline the details of the work she’s agreed to undertake on your behalf.
Ruth will let you know how long the portrait should take depending on its complexity and her workload, but no commission should take longer than six weeks to complete from start to finish. You’ll find more details of the process in the questions section.
